The CES Conference is hosted by the Center for the Study of Elections and Democracy at Brigham Young University. Anna Nakaya, the CSED administrator, can work with you to register for the conference and answer questions you might have about the conference, travel to and from Solitude Resort, lodging at the resort, or any other questions you might have.
Register for the Conference
To register for the conference, click here. Anna Nakaya, the CSED administrator will then be in contact to process your registration fee. The conference registration fee includes all meal costs, site fees, technology rentals and all other venue-related costs. This fee does not include travel or accommodations.
Lodging
Please reserve your room (or rooms) directly with Solitude Mountain Resort. The final registration deadline is May 01, 2025, but we would like you to register as soon as possible so that we have an accurate count. You should contact Solitude at (385) 282-7155. To receive the special conference rates, please provide the group name The Cooperative Elections Study 2025 Conference, so the agents will book from our discounted room block.
Transportation
Solitude Mountain Resort is about 30-minute drive from the Salt Lake City airport. There is no public transportation to the resort. The easiest way to get to and from the resort is via Uber/Lyft. There are also a number of shuttles that go to and from the resort for a fee.
Conference Format and Presentations
Any attendees who wish to give a presentation at the conference are invited to do so. Please email your presentation titles and materials to csed@byu.edu by May 15, 2025. We will be posting and distributing the presentations in advance. Presentations will be short (~5 minutes), consisting of a maximum of four slides so that there is ample time for questions and conversations. The conference is particularly well suited to presentations on research in its preliminary stages.
Conference Dress
The dress for the conference is “mountain casual” (jeans and other casual attire are appropriate). The conference is located in a beautiful mountain setting at about 8,000 feet elevation. At 8,000 feet the sun is very strong during the day and evenings are chilly, even in the summer.
Arrival and Registration
There will be a registration table set up in the main conference room at the Moonbeam Lodge on Sunday, June 1 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM. Please stop by to pick up conference materials. If you will be unable to pick up your materials during those hours, they will be handed out at dinner on Sunday and Monday morning before the first panel as well.
